  2011/2012 HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

  As another great year draws to a close we are so thankful for our wonderful 'gang' and their parents. It has been a busy year for us with moving to and getting settled at our new location.

   

  We will be running the Santa Paws gift drive again this year in support of homeless dogs in foster/rescue care over the holidays. Wish lists and empty gift bags will be available through Ferghus & Co. and Global Pet Foods Kanata. We are aiming to have at least 125 gift bags filled to be distributed to local rescues for the dogs in their rescue programs. Our 2009 drive was a huge success allowing us to distributed bags to several rescues including, BirchHaven, Golden Rescue, HART and Newf Friends.

   

  This year we will be closing between Christmas and New Years. There will be no scheduled groups running the week of December 26^th-30^th.

  Historic Dog Seizure - dontations still needed

  HSI Canada extends its gratitude to supporters for their kind donations in the historic rescue and emergency sheltering operations of more than 500 neglected dogs and puppies from a large-scale commercial breeding operation in Quebec. HSI Canada, in partnership with the Ministere de l'Agriculture, des Pecheries et de l'Alimentation du Quebec and local law enforcement, rescued the animals after multiple investigations indicated dogs were not receiving proper care.
  
  HSI Canada is calling on the public and private companies to visit hsicanada.ca/savedogs to find out how they can help give these dogs and puppies the second chance they deserve. The rescued dogs and puppies may require care and feeding for several weeks until the pending custody case occurs.
  
  Donations for the emergency shelter can be dropped off to Global Pet Food locations in Kanata and Hintonburg locations.
